Multi-year digital accessibility plan
Period 2026-2029 · Issued on May 10, 2026 · Version 1.0
This multi-year digital accessibility plan describes BasketBoard's policy for making its service accessible to all users, in compliance with article 47 of French law no. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005 and the General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA 4.1).
It covers the period 2026-2029 and is supplemented each year by an operational action plan detailing ongoing initiatives and resources.
1. Accessibility policy
BasketBoard considers digital accessibility an essential aspect of service quality. The team commits to:
- Designing and evolving the service in accordance with RGAA 4.1 level AA criteria.
- Systematically testing every new feature with automated tools (axe-core, jest-axe, Lighthouse) before deployment.
- Training contributors (development, design, content) on accessibility best practices.
- Collecting feedback from users with disabilities through a dedicated channel and responding within reasonable timeframes.
- Publishing an annual public report on actions taken and conformance indicators.
2. Governance and resources
Responsibility for accessibility is held by the project founder, supported by technical contributors. Oversight relies on:
- An accessibility lead, reachable at accessibilite@basketboard.fr, in charge of monitoring the plan and handling reports.
- A quarterly review of accessibility indicators (axe-core results, Lighthouse scores, reports handled).
- An annual update of the public accessibility statement, no later than each May.
3. Scope
The plan applies to the entire BasketBoard digital service:
- The public site (landing page, legal pages, sign-up flow).
- The authenticated application (dashboard, match, licensed player, team and hall management).
- Transactional communications (notification emails).
4. Year 1 review (2026)
Actions completed during the first year of the plan:
- Automated axe-core 4.11 audit on 13 key pages and 1 modal, in light and dark mode: 0 violations detected.
- Jest-axe tests on UI components (buttons, fields, comboboxes, dialogs, etc.) and key pages (login, register, dashboard, match creation).
- Lighthouse CI integrated into the deployment pipeline with a minimum accessibility threshold of 90.
- Adoption of Radix UI to ensure WAI-ARIA conformance of components.
- Manual verification of keyboard navigation on main flows (Tab, Esc, visible focus).
- Global Cmd+K shortcut and keyboard shortcuts on main screens.
- Publication of the accessibility statement and this multi-year plan.
5. Year 1 action plan (2026)
Initiatives still to complete in 2026:
- Manual RGAA 4.1 audit across all user flows (in addition to automated audits).
- Roll-out of the accessibility report form and the dedicated email channel accessibilite@basketboard.fr.
- Internal documentation of an accessibility checklist for code review.
6. Year 2 action plan (2027)
- User testing with screen readers (NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS) on all business flows.
- External audit by a specialized provider on a representative sample of pages.
- Improved support for user preferences: prefers-reduced-motion, high contrast, font size.
- Accessibility of dynamic content (toasts, notifications, table updates) via ARIA live regions.
- Accessibility training for all contributors working on code and content.
7. Year 3 and 4 action plan (2028-2029)
- Full conformance with RGAA 4.1 level AA across the entire service.
- Study of AAA criteria conformance for the most-used features.
- Accessibility of exports (match PDFs, iCal files, CSV exports) following PDF/UA recommendations.
- Setting up a panel of users with disabilities for regular testing.
- Renewal of a full external audit and publication of the results.
8. Monitoring and indicators
Indicators published each year in the accessibility statement:
- Number of audited pages and RGAA conformance rate.
- Number of axe-core violations and jest-axe tests in place.
- Lighthouse Accessibility score (median and minimum threshold).
- Number of reports received and average response time.
- Number of training hours delivered to contributors.
9. Feedback and appeal channels
Any user can report an accessibility issue through the report form or by email to accessibilite@basketboard.fr. Appeal channels with the French Defender of Rights are detailed in the accessibility statement.
